It's not often that you first meet your real estate agent in an Emergency Department, but that's how I met Colleen Meiser when I came to Maryland looking for a home.

I had to travel ahead of my husband with my 2- and 4-year-old to begin house hunting, and fell very ill on the flight from Ohio to Maryland. Colleen called my cell, concerned that I had not called her upon our arrival. Without hesitation, Colleen was at the hospital within a few minutes to take care of my little girls, as we had no friends or relatives nearby. Just watching the caring way she interacted with my children spoke volumes of her character.

Once I got back on my feet, I began to realize that not only was Colleen wonderful as a person, she is a great real estate agent. During our short time together, she quickly learned what we were looking for and continued working with us after we had left. We had planned a 2nd visit to do some "serious" house shopping; however, several weeks before our planned visit, she called to inform us that the house we were looking for just came out on the market at a great price. As a matter of fact, she had left the realtors' tour to tell us about it.

To help us decide if it was worth the 12 hour drive, she and her husband, a well respected local contractor, did a walk-through of the house with us over the phone, answering questions, taking measurements, and sending digital pictures online. We decided to take a chance, and drove 12 hours the next day to see it. She was right! Great house! Great neighborhood! Great price! We placed our bid with several others who had caught on, and had our dream house by the weekend. Now we are enjoying our life in Maryland and love our new house and neighbors!
